You may remember that I was fortunate enough to travel to Italy a few months ago. During my time there I travelled to the town of Santa Croce sull'Arno where it feels like all of the best tanneries in the world produce the famous Italian vegetable tanned leather. My now good friend Lorenzo of Conceria Opera has launched a new venture called Atlantica Leather. They source their leather from Opera, Virgilio, and Maryam tanneries.
The leather we use at Harland has been made the exact same way at the same tannery for 159 years! I was drawn to its fantastic feel and texture as well as the beautiful look of the imperfections and intricacies of a natural bovine leather.
I can't wait to share more with you and for you to get your hands on this truly gorgeous leather. The patina will develop quicker than nearly any leather I have ever seen!
